What is baptism?
After Salvation, baptism is an important next step in following Jesus! It’s an outward declaration of an inward decision and change. When you go under the water, it represents death and burial of your old self; coming up out of the water symbolizes your resurrection in Jesus as a brand new creation!
For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Romans 6:4
Are you ready to take this exciting next step and get baptized?
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.”
WHY BAPTISM?
Jesus was baptized.
(Matthew 3:13-17)
The Bible tells us that every believer is to be baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19)
Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly profess your salvation.
(1 Peter 3:21)
At Thrive Church, we practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us.
(Romans 6:3-4)
When we go under the water, it symbolizes the death and burial of our sinful selves. When we come out of the water, it symbolizes our resurrection as a new creation in Christ.
(Galatians 3:27; 2 Corinthians 5:17)
